Juniper swiftly prances through the trees around her as she noses the air for a scent. She knows these lands are rich with food, but she hasn't quite yet learned where the veins of prey are in the woods. She pauses next to a large mossy tree and sticks her nose high in the air. A faint scent of bear crosses her nose, before a much stronger stench of deer emerges from the stillness. Juniper half-smiles as she climbs down the roots.
She slowly approaches the herd, before pausing to pick a target from the bunch. She sees a juvenile fawn, along with an elder cow and a very young calf. Juniper takes a moment before choosing to test her luck with the juvenile. She lowers her self ever closer to the forest floor before stalking over behind some large tree roots. Her pawsteps slow as she moves closer, preparing to launch herself at the juvenile. The young male raises his head as he looks around, his ears perking at the small sound of Juniper's paws.
The fae jumps at the young buck, tackling him to the ground. The rest of the herd scatter as June breaks the juvenile's neck, leaving it limp underneath her. She is satisfied at her kill as she howls, tilting her head back to the sky. The howl rings loud and clear as she bellows on and on. It seems to merge with the land and bend with the mountains.
All is well with the world. She thinks.
